He has always helped others in improving their game and since 2018 he has gradually switched from professional chess to coaching. Now he is a full-time chesscoach and enjoys teaching students at all levels of which many have had improvements of hundreds of ratings points and some even have become titled players themselves!

Roeland's Chess Career

In his career he got to play against players that now dominate the chessworld. Players like former World Champion Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Wesley So and Anish Giri. With his exciting dynamic playing style he got invited to play in tournaments all over the world. He visited countries like India, Guatemala, Lebanon, Italy, China and more. During his travels, he kept improving his chess and managed to get the highest titel of Grandmaster in 2012 with many tournament victories behind his name. He played in the highest level competitions and managed to secure multiple national team victories.
