With years of experience as a professional player and coach, there is no better coach in the world to improve your chessgame. He has helped hundreds of students to the next level and is still aiming for the top himself.
Chess coaching
He has always helped others in improving their game and since 2018 he has gradually switched from professional chess to coaching. Now he is a full-time chesscoach and enjoys teaching students at all levels of which some have become titled players themselves.and many have had improvements of hundreds of ratings points!

To keep improving in chess, he strongly beliefs joy and curiosity are the two main factors for improvement. If you feel like you possess these traits, than Roeland's teaching is absolutely for you!
Roeland's Chess Career
In his career he got to play against players that now dominate the chessworld. Players like former World Champion Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Wesley So and Anish Giri. With his exciting dynamic playing style he got invited to play in tournaments all over the world. He visited countries like India, Guatemala, Lebanon, Italy, China and more. During his travels, he kept improving his chess and managed to get the highest titel of Grandmaster in 2012 with many tournament victories behind his name. He played in the highest level competitions and managed to secure multiple national team victories.

Runner-up in the National Dutch Championship of 2022.

2022/23, 2021/2022 and 2015/16
National Dutch team champion.
Shared 1st place in the Mumbai Mayors Cup.
2018, 2016, 2008
Tournament victor of the Leiden Chess tournament.
2012/13
Top-scorer in the Dutch competition of 2012/13 with 8 1/2 out of 9 games and a TPR of over 2800.
